If you're the sort of person who hates exercise then this place is probably for you.

There's none of this Forrest Gump-esque marathon efforts in Boerne, Texas as the sofa slug's paradise is holding a 0.5K charity race.

It's happening this coming Saturday but, if you've not already spotted your opportunity, tough luck as it's fully booked and sold out.

If you're one of the lucky people to be involved, congratulations, and it's probably going to be a sweet to experience going over the finishing line without having put in the effort of a full marathon.

The event organisers say: "Join your fellow underachievers for a day (actually more like 10 minutes) of glory, celebration and participation trophies to raise money for a great organization, Blessings in a Backpack!

"The Inaugural Boerne 0.5k will be held at 11 am on May 5, 2018 at River Road Park.

"This will be very fun, tongue-in-cheek event that will lampoon the typical 5k."

Blessings in a Backpack mobilizes communities, individuals and resources to provide food on the weekends for elementary school children across America who might otherwise go hungry.

Don't get us wrong, everyone who runs marathons in cities like London or New York have our massive respect.

However, you know, running just isn't for some people whether they are not able to or, like some of us, don't fancy the training.

That's why the hustle of the Boerne race is perfect as you even get t-shirts, medals and a finish line photo to brag about on Facebook like all the suckers who run full marathons.

And the incentives don't stop there as there is a pre- and post-race beer plus doughnuts for a bit of a boost when you're halfway around the course.

It's the sort of thing dreams are made of. If you've already signed up, you're a lucky, lucky person. For the rest of us, let's hope we can get involved next year.
