He's got an eye on the Forbes list.

We already know Conor McGregor makes a shitload of money for what he does inside the Octagon, while making a reported £75 million against Floyd Mayweather, but the 'face of the fight game' even makes a tonne when he's NOT fighting.

The Irishman successfully lured Mayweather out of retirement to a fight in August, and even though he suffered a 10th round stoppage, McGregor raked in a huge amount of cash.

We're talking in the region of £75 million. Not bad for a guy who was making his professional debut inside the squared circle.

He's also making UFC record by cashing the biggest cheques handed out by the premiere MMA organisation. And he's pocketing serious dough when he's not fighting.

McGregor spoke about money while revealing he takes home £500,000 a month outside of his work inside the cage/ring.

"I look at politicians and they're almost hated by everyone and I don't want to be in that position," McGregor said via Mirror.

"I like to help people and do my thing from where I'm at. It's already like I am a politician, whatever I say, whatever I do, it's everywhere. If I do good, it blows up everywhere, if I do bad it blows up everywhere.

"I must use my power and my position to do good, I'm not going to seek a title, what would be the purpose of me going into politics, would it be revenue?

"What does a politician earn; £100,000 a year? I'm talking half a million a month I'm on. I'm happy where I am, I am the president in my own way.

The 29-year-old has an eye on the 'billy' mark, not to mention targeting the Forbes list.

"You know, I just dream of hitting that 'billy' mark, if I'm being honest. I'm cruising towards the billion-dollar mark, and that's, right now, what's next for me is in June to July of next year, will be the next Forbes 100 list, the highest-paid athletes list.

"(Cristiano) Ronaldo was No.1 last year, I was No.24 I believe, with $34m in revenue. Next year, if it stands as is, Floyd (Mayweather) will be No.1, I'll be No.2 and Ronaldo will be No.3.

"If I fight one or two more times I will overtake him, so that's what I am looking to get, right, that's what my goal is right now. Number one highest-paid athlete Forbes 2018 and then make my way towards the billion dollar mark and then continue to go," The UFC lightweight king added.

Expect another mammoth payday when he does eventually return to the UFC.
