Kevin Magnussen had a top weekend at the Singapore Grand Prix. The Renault driver finished in 10th place to secure a single point finish for him and the team. What makes his result extraordinary is the fact he did it all without a single sip of water.

The Singapore Grand Prix often overruns the two hour time limit that Formula One races have to comply to. That's because it's a sometimes torturous race that sees many a Safety Car stoppage. And in 30 degree heat it can't be too much fun.

Magnussen qualified 15th and on a track notorious for it's beauty but not excitement managed to make up five places to finish 10th place. After the race the former McLaren driver looked exhausted and it's no wonder having driven in the humidity with no water. Speaking to Autosport after the race he explained:

"Physically it was very tough, I didn't have any water in the car, so it was pretty tough. I don't know what the problem was. I'm not sure if there was any water in or if the bottle failed, but the team definitely owes me a drink!

"In the end I just had to block it from my mind and get on with it."

In 2014 the 23 year old finished in 10th place in Singapore with McLaren and in a weird twist of fate he also couldn't drink water in that race. The Dane's cockpit overheated two years ago and he was treated for minor burns after that race.

It doesn't sound like he has much look in Formula One's most striking and only night race!
