Conor McGregor is expected to sit out a period of time in 2017 as he welcomes his first child into the world but that hasn't stopped the UFC roster from calling him out.
And the latest name to issue a challenge is newly-minted UFC bantamweight champion Cody Garbrandt. The Team Alpha Male product put on a masterful performance as he dethroned Dominick Cruz at UFC 207.
Not to mention calling out featherweight champion Jose Aldo. TJ Dillashaw won't like the sound of these plans.
Dillashaw also churned out a great Octagon outing as he out-pointed the heavy-hitter John Lineker. The ex-bantamweight champion is hoping that victory will secure him a title shot and a chance to regain his title.
But if Garbrandt has his way, he'll get the "money" fight in Aldo or McGregor. Speaking on The MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani via Bloody Elbow, he said;
"I need to sit down with Dana (White) and Sean (Shelby), and find out the biggest money fight for me. I know I could go up and fight with Jose Aldo. He has wins over my teammates, he's a legend, and I'd like to test his chin. I know I hit hard, and I'm just getting started."
While taking a dig at McGregor's UFC 196 loss to Nate Diaz;
"And I could also have the biggest fight with Conor (McGregor). I could easily go up. My homie Nate Diaz choked him out, and I can't believe he's pound-for-pound No. 2 on the list, with, you know he got choked out."
"He (Conor) knows that I'd go up to 150 and catchweight with him. Jose Aldo I'll go up to 45. But yeah. I'm excited for the potential match-ups for me. I feel like I'm one of the biggest draws. I'm the biggest draw for Conor in the division, you know what I mean? I'm a rising star. Jose Aldo needs a fight. I think that he went out there and said that he'd like to fight me too."
Dillashaw? Aldo? McGregor?
