People get cold feet and call off weddings all the time but rarely is it quite as public as when Rory McIlroy decided three days after mailing out invitations for his wedding with tennis star Caroline Wozniacki that he wasn't ready for marriage. Fortunately she's quite positive about it.
Back in 2014 the pair were sport's answer to well some celebrity couple that are both actors and everyone adours. He'd pop up at tennis tournaments and she'd be cheering him on on the golf tour. But the Northern Irishman called the whole thing off coming to a sudden realisation around the time people were likely messaging him being excited to receive their invite to the wedding of the year.
The Danish tennis star saw her ranking fall from the top ten to her current ranking of 45 as her form dropped off. However the former world number one clearly doesn't blame the break up and talking to OK magazine actually said it was "great experience."

Asked if she thought the split had made her stronger she said, "I think I'm just a different person. Obviously it was hard at the time, but it was a great experience to go through and come out the other end of. I wouldn't have wanted it any other way"
Wozniacki, who was knocked out of Wimbledon on Tuesday, and is trying to rebuild back into the world's top 10, was asked if she was thankful for the whole episode and she was still positive saying, "Oh yeah, for sure. I'm very thankful. I wouldn't be where I am now."
McIlroy has clearly got to a place in his life now where he is ready for marriage and is once again engaged now to PGA staffer Erica Stoll.
