He hasn't competed in MMA since August last year but Stockton-born fighter Nate Diaz is set to headline UFC 219 in December, according to reports.
Tyrone Woodley could potentially be defending his Welterweight title against Diaz at the end of 2017 after it emerged that the 32-year-old was back in training camp.
Diaz's strength and conditioning coach Jose Garcia, who has a long history of working with the fighter, posted on Instagram saying that the #6 ranked lightweight is now in training.

He then deleted the post after it went viral, but bizarrely posted again later on in the day:
Late last night BJPENN's Chris Taylor confirmed that Diaz had started training camp ahead of his highly anticipated return.
He was then told that Nate Diaz is 'currently finalizing the deals for his next fight.' and was told "Nate's supporters will love this matchup"
Then the fountain of all MMA knowledge,Ariel Helwani, confirmed that that a potential fight between Diaz and Woodley was being discussed by UFC officials.

"This was the rabbit in the hat I eluded to yesterday on the show. No deal yet, I'm told." said Helwani.
"They are getting creative. Couple other ideas, too. Event is 6 weeks away and no main event."
The fact that Diaz is back after such a long stint out is exciting enough, but a potential bout with arguably one of the best fighters in MMA is something we simply cannot wait for.
MAKE IT HAPPEN, UFC.
