Simon Whitlock and Martin Schindler Played Out A Dreadful End To One Leg

The former PDC World Championship runner up was impressive in his first rounds tie, apart from the end of one leg.

The PDC World Championships has been a weird place to be this year so far, especially for some of the top names. One player who made sure he wasn't another to be shocked was Simon Whitlock but he still left fans shocked with his dreadful end of leg.

Of course Michael van Gerwen easily went through round one when he kicked off the tournament but it's been a bit of a struggle for a lot of the seeds already.

It's only a week into the event and we've seeds seen Dave Chisnall, Jelle Klaasen, Stephen Bunting Jonny Clayton, James Wade, Mervyn King, Mark Webster, Benito van de Pas, Joe Cullen and most surprisingly Adrian Lewis get knocked out.

On Wednesday there was a big giant killing in football whilst Simon Whitlock was trying to avoid being the latest big name to leave Ally Pally early. The Wizard was up against German Martin Schindler.

In the third leg of the match the pair had 22 shots at double to win the leg between them, and kept missing. It got down to both players needing double one and even that proved tricky:

Plenty of fans saw images of their own game in the footage:

The 10th seed might not have been able to get over the line in this shocking leg of darts but he put it behind him and went on to win the match 3-1, securing victory with a 127 check-out.

Whitlock is likely to face Darren Webster in the next round, unless the seed killing continues, and would have later gone on to face Lewis but that's not in his future now.

The championships is of course Phil Taylor's last.
