Throwback To Ricky Hatton And Floyd Mayweather's Memorable Press Conference

Never a dull moment in this one...

It's exactly nine years to the day that Floyd Mayweather and Ricky Hatton locked horns in Las Vegas in one of the most eagerly anticipated boxing matches of all-time.

Both men were undefeated going into the fight but it was Mayweather who picked up the win on home soil, defeating Hatton via TKO in the tenth round and retaining his WBC & The Ring welterweight titles in the process.

The match wasn't without controversy though, with many questioning referee Joe Cortez's role in the fight - the official deducted a point of Hatton in round six and his style of refereeing nulified the threat of Hatton, who was unable to attack Mayweather's body as he would have liked to have done.

And though he lost the match, there's no denying that Hatton was the victor when it comes to press conferences.

One of the many pressers, aired at 11:30am UK time on Sky Sports News and had plenty of expletives and colourful language from 'The Hitman'.

No tables, bottles or fists needed for this press conference, just some verbal jabs.

Coverage of the press conference featured Floyd Mayweather's dodgy dancing, Hatton calling his upcoming opponent a "six year old" and several apologies from Sky Sports News presenter Simon Thomas in relation to the language on display so early in the morning.

Watch the memorable press conference in the following clip:

Mayweather was laying into Hatton in the build-up to the fight and despite him beating the Mancunian, he was full of praise for his opponent after the fight, saying:

"Ricky Hatton is one tough fighter. He is still a champion in my eyes and I'd love to see him fight again. Ricky Hatton is probably one of toughest competitors I've faced. I hit him with some big ones but he kept coming and I can see why they call him the 'Hitman'."
