The controversy that has arose from Paulie Malignaggi quitting Conor McGregor's training camp this week is showing no signs of abating, with the former two weight boxing champion tearing into McGregor in a new Twitter post.
The former IBF Junior Welterweight and WBA Welterweight champion had been drafted in to help McGregor train for his upcoming bout with Floyd Mayweather in Las Vegas on 26th August, but the Brooklyn native posted a statement on Friday morning explaining that he has decided to leave the Irishman's camp after just two sessions.
Earlier this week, pictures surfaced online of McGregor apparently putting Malignaggi on the canvas, along with a couple of shots of the 36-year-old taking some stiff looking shots from the two-weight UFC Champion. Malignaggi dismissed the shot of of him on the mat as a 'pushdown' rather than a knockout shot from Notorious.

Unsurprisingly, legions of McGregor fans were none too pleased with some of Malignaggi's comments towards the UFC Lightweight champion and tweeted a tidal wave of abuse his way, causing the American boxer to fire back with several disparaging remarks about Notorious and the 'ass beating' he gave him during Tuesday's sparring session as well as revealing that McGregor 'whimpers like a girl' when he receives a body shot.

McGregor is yet to publicly respond to Malignaggi's claims about what happened during sparring, but the former welterweight champion's comments are certainly causing a stir in the combat sport world.
The Irishman faces Floyd Mayweather at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on 26th August but is an overwhelming underdog going up against the 49-0 Mayweather.
