The Champions League and the Europa League were arguably the two biggest additions to FIFA 19.

So, it's only fitting that EA Sports has released some insightful statistics on the Champions League (sorry, Europa League, better luck next time).

Yes, the publisher has released an infographic on its website, dubbed 'How the world plays UEFA Champions League,' and shows how players across the world have done in Europe's elite competition.

When it comes to the top scorer in the Champions League, it's none other than Cristiano Ronaldo leading the way.

That's right, the real-life all-time record scorer in the competition has been FIFA players' most popular choice, collectively scoring an impressive 5.4m times.

Neymar and Edinson Cavani both came second with 3.1m to their names, while the third member of Paris Saint-Germain's deadly trident, Kylian Mbappé, came fourth with 2.5m.

Rounding off the top scorers is Paulo Dybala, with the Juventus ace finding the back of the net 2.3m times.

The stats don't stop there. We're only getting started, folks.

The club that has won the most matches in the Champions League is none other than Juventus, who have picked up five million victories so far.

PSG are in second place with four million, while Real Madrid and Manchester City both came third with two million and Bayern Munich came fourth with one million.

The country that has had the most players compete in Champions League matches is France with 4.3m.

Italy secured second place with 4.2m, Great Britain and Brazil came third with 3.8m, USA are fourth with 3.6m and Germany are fifth with 3.4m. Meanwhile, the tail-end of the list has Mexico with 3.2m, 2.5m for Spain and 1.5m for Turkey.

Overall, though, players in over 185 countries have played more than 55 million matches in the Champions League.

With the Champions League set to resume next week, EA Sports has released new content and a new cover for FIFA 19. Unfortunately for Ronaldo, he has been dropped from the box art.

Who will win the Champions League this season?

Let us know in the comments.
