This man really is a real life Happy Gilmore...

If you thought the fictional Happy Gilmore could smack a ball hundreds of miles, then you haven't seen real life pro-golfer Dustin Johnson let one rip from 400 yards.

In one of the most incredible scenes we've ever witnessed on a golf course, world number one Johnson came just inches from sinking a hole-in-one on a Par four.

Johnson, who held a two-shot lead going into the final day of the Tournament of Champions in Hawaii, absolutely smashed a ball from 433 yards.

10 seconds later, the 33-year-old looked on as the ball landed three inches from dropping in for an albatross. OH MY DAYS.

Johnson has put on quite the display in recent days, and this incredible drive on the 12th hole sums up his magnificent form coming into January's tournament at Kapalua.

Remarkably, on his way to the ball, Dustin said he hit the ball 'a little thin' so it came up a little short.

I think you're being a tad harsh on yourself, here.

When it comes to smashing a golf ball really hard, England's Joe Miller is one of the world's best and his performance at the World Long Drive Championship in Thackerville, Oklahoma in 2016 blew us away.

Miller, who twice went over 435-yards on the way to winning his second title. rarely plays golf but who cares about putting and chipping when you've got this ridiculous swing.

Joe gave us a reminder of his Championship-winning drive on Twitter:

If you're wondering how much these types of drives are worth, Miller received $125,000 for his efforts and a boxing-style title belt.

The record distance achieved in a European Long Drive Championship is 473-yards by Allen Doyle in September 2005.

The world record recognised by Guinness Records as the longest drive in a competition is 515-yards by 64-year-old Mike Austin. He achieved this feat in 1974 at the US Senior National Open Qualifier.

You're not far off, Dustin!
