Pogba Speaks Out On Criticism And Says He's 'Judged Differently'

Has there been some unfair assessments of the midfielder?

Manchester United midfielder Paul Pobga has said he gets judged differently from other midfielders in the Premier League.

The French international has done well at Man United but struggled to find consistency since his world-record-breaking £89.million transfer from Juventus. Some feel he hasn't shown the quality that his transfer fee suggests.

"It's quite funny because we don't judge me on the midfield part," he told Sky Sports. "We judge me on assists and goals and that's the truth."

"I can make an outstanding game, but if I don't score or make an assist they will say, 'that is normal', or whatever. But if someone else does it, it is different. They will maybe be man of the match," Pogba said.

In Man United's recent F.A Cup encounter with Tottenham Hotspur, the 25-year-old midfielder looked out of sorts in the opening proceedings, but then showed his quality, providing Alexis Sanchez with a delicious cross to score from, earning his 12th assist in all competitions.

Indeed, the former Juve midfielder can be the difference in a game: when Newcastle United traveled to Old Trafford in November, Pogba stepped up and showed his world-class capabilities, the game ending 4-1 to the home side thanks to his spellbinding performance.

It's been said that Pogba's game is played in licks, in momentary instances of brilliance rather a dogged display throughout. This causes many to quickly and unfairly hound the player.

He says that he takes all this in his stride, though. "I think I'm judged differently, but it's good," he added. "It makes me improve as well, it is a challenge for me and I take it in a good way.

"I don't take it in a bad way. I'll try to score and make assists and that's it. I still want to do my job in midfield," Pogba said. "If I can help the team in attack and defence and make a difference I will do it. If I can score and assist it is even better."

There have been murmurs of his possible departure from his current club this summer window.

Hopefully, it won't be the case as Pogba clearly has so much more to give to Jose Mourinho's side.
