World Cup 2018 Tickets Go On Sale - If You're Obese You're In Luck

World Cup 2018 Tickets Go On Sale - If You're Obese You're In Luck

The larger football fan really has something to celebrate in Russia next year.

For the larger people in life things don't always go our way, for example it's impossible to shop in Zara or often Topman. However those who are overweight could get their own back in Russia next year.

The World Cup in Russia next summer is like most World Cups a year out, there's plenty of people sceptical about if it should be taking place there at all but it'll end up being great.

That was certainly the case for Brazil just over three years ago. And for those going to experience Russia the initial ballot for tickets has just opened, exciting times indeed.

And for anyone wanting to go there's some very interesting news, especially for those who are fonder of doughnuts than they are exercise, that they'll be tickets available for the clinically obese.

Those in the seats, that will presumably have some reinforced support, will have bigger seating areas for their posterior.

However, according to the Times, those in possession of the 'special access tickets' will have to provide verification that they are indeed obese with the rules stating:

"The ticket holder must carry and present at any time, upon request of the Fifa World Cup authorities, the required official documents which evidence his/her fulfilment of the personal condition required for the purchase or use of the ticket."

To qualify fans will have to have a body mass index of 35 metres per square metre or above, so it'll be a trip to the GP before deciding what tickets to apply for.

For once they'll be a load of men hoping their doctor tells them that they're obese!

The initial ticket application phase is now open for about a month, until October 12th, with tickets ranging from £78 to £829, with the most expensive being for the final.

Fans wanting to see all of their team's matches can buy bundles for £1,100 to cover all seven games of the competition.

Prices for local fans are significantly cheaper, starting at an incredible £12.50, not bad to see a game at the World Cup.

One hopes there's lots of stairs and very few concession stands near the seats with extra comfort!
