They'll try to ward off interest.

Dele Alli has already been pictured with Mauricio Pochettino's arm around him once this season but Tottenham Hotspur are hoping to that it'll happen again soon as they try to stop Real Madrid making a move for the midfielder.

It has been a good season for Spurs when it comes to securing their top talent to new deals which, considering their form in the last two seasons, is as important as any new signings.

Pochettino has become so synonymous with contract renewals that it's become somewhat of an internet sensation when he's seen in his signature pose of putting his arm around the player, some people have even questioned if it's him or a cut out.

At the beginning of the season Dele Alli was one of the players to sign a new deal. It was no surprise considering the impact the midfielder had in his first season in the Premier League as Spurs came so close to finishing above Arsenal in the league.

However that new deal took him to 'only' £60k-a-week and with Real wanting to sign the player it's no surprise that the White Hart Lane club are, according to the Daily Mail, going to offer him over £100k-a-week.

Daniel Levy has mainly been against offering players £100k-a-week or more and currently only Harry Kane and Hugo Lloris are on that kind of money but with more money coming to the club through TV deals and Champions League participation they are in a better place to do that.

The 20 year old has far from suffered from second season syndrome and if anything he's only improved. In his last three Premier League appearances the former MK Dons player has bagged six goals to take his record to 11 for the season.

Barcelona have also been linked with a move for Alli but Spurs are determined to keep hold of their best players as they strive to make themselves a permanent member of the big four and battle for titles.

Levy will not want to sell Alli and £100k-a-week would give them more chance but they also offered Gareth Bale the chance to become their best paid player of all time but he rejected the chance to move to Madrid.

Will lightning strike twice?
