Stoke City forward Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting made probably the most surprising move of the entire summer when he swapped a season in the Championship for one of the biggest clubs in Europe, nice work if you can get it.

Good morning and welcome to Saturday. There's a chance that one or two of you celebrated the end of the working week by going out and grabbing a few drinks either with colleagues or people outside of work.

That being said there's as good a chance that some of you have woken up with sore heads trying to work out what exactly you did last night or rolling over to regret who exactly you did last night.

Stoke City and Cameroon forward Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting might not have got drunk last night but there's every chance that he'll be wondering what the hell happened and when he realises he'll still be as baffled as us as to how.

Last summer he made the move from Schalke to Stoke and in his first season in the Premier League he bagged five goals in 32 games in all competitions as the Potters were relegated.

He had been yet to play this season in the Championship and on European transfer deadline day he managed to bag a move to Paris Saint Germain, that's the same PSG whose main aim is winning the Champions League!

The 29 year old was allowed to leave Stoke on a free with the two parties agreeing to mutually terminate his contract and the Ligue 1 champions have had problems with FFP before but he's not exactly the kind of player you need to strengthen that side.

Another player relegated from the Premier League last season managed to get a move to Ligue 1 yesterday with Nacer Chadli moving from West Brom to Monaco, but at least he impressed in the World Cup.

PSG wrapped up their summer transfer business by signing Bayern Munich left back Juan Bernat for £13.5 million whilst goalkeeper Kevin Trapp and midfielder Giovani lo Celso left on loan to Frankfurt and Betis respectively.

Someone at PSG will be waking up with a headache and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting next to them in bed and wondering what the hell happened, happy Saturday.
