Spurs have started making moves in the summer transfer window and according to a report in Spain have already spoken to Barcelona about signing former target Malcom, only a year after he joined the Catalan giants.

The most incredible thing about Spurs season, where they were the team who lasted longest hanging onto Manchester City and Liverpool and reached the Champions League final, is that they did it without making a single signing.

Mauricio Pochettino's side didn't do any transfer business at all last summer, selling or signing anyone, and only got involved in the transfer malarkey in January to sell Mousa Dembele.

This summer things are likely to change now that Pochettino's side have moved into their new stadium and they'll be launching a new approach at rivaling City and Liverpool.

There has already been reports that they've opened talks with Barcelona for midfielder Andre Gomes, who's been on loan at Everton this season, and apparently they've used those talks to start negotiations for another Barca player.

According to SPORT, Spurs want to sign winger Malcom from Ernesto Valverde's side after missing out on him 18 months ago and have already begun talks.

Spurs, along with Arsenal, were linked with the Brazilian in January 2018 but he decided to stay at Bordeaux for the rest of that season.

Instead Mauricio Pochettino's side decided to sign PSG's Lucas Moura with the speedy winger eventually going on to score the hat-trick that qualified them for the Champions League final.

Malcom looked set to move to Roma last summer but at the last minute Barcelona hijacked the deal and he ended up in La Liga instead.

That might be a decision the 22 year old regrets after just 608 minutes of league football this season and he is apparently open to offers.

Arsenal and Borussia Dortmund have also been linked with him, although the Germans have signed two wingers today.

Barca would want at least €40 million for him to recoup what they paid last summer especially as they look set to sign Antoine Griezmann this summer.

Could Malcom be the first Spurs arrival in 18 months?
