Gareth Bale might want to leave Real Madrid this summer but because of Neymar the price for him to leave is a world record equalling €222 million and not many people can afford that.

Gareth Bale used to be the most expensive player in the world. From 2013-2015 his €100 million move from Spurs to Real Madrid had made him the most expensive transfer ever, that was until Paul Pogba's move to Manchester United beat him.

The Welshman is now just the sixth most expensive player ever with Ousmane Dembele, Philippe Coutinho, Kylian Mbappe and Neymar all costing more than the Real winger.

Transfer prices might be ever growing but Bale's goal in the Champions League final, the first one, was absolutely priceless and he followed it up by putting a question mark on his future at the Bernabeu.

The news that Zinedine Zidane decided to leave Real might mean that Bale changes his mind on leaving but in case he still wants out Los Blancos have put a price on his head.

According to SPORT Real have decided they won't sell for anything less than €222 million based on the fact that's how much Neymar cost PSG last summer.

Neymar moved from Barcelona last season because that's how much his transfer release clause was and the Catalan giants didn't really want to sell him but had to.

Bale on the other hand has a release clause of €1 billion, the same as teammate Cristiano Ronaldo, but the 13 time Champions League winners are aware that no one would be able to afford that much.

Not too many teams would be able to afford the lower price either with probably only PSG, Manchester United and Manchester City being able to pay for the 28 year old.

Bale's main reason for wanting to leave was finding his game time reduced by Zidane but the Frenchman surprised everyone by stepping down just days after the Champions League win.

SPORT say that Florentino Perez is unlikely to sell Bale unless he can get his hands on Neymar, who he is obsessed with signing.

Would Bale be worth the €222 million?
