Former Liverpool target Nabil Fekir has completed his move from Lyon to Real Betis, in a deal worth up to €29.75 million, depending on bonuses.

Just over a year ago, on the eve of the World Cup starting, Liverpool looked certain to sign Nabil Fekir, on a day being referred to as 'Fekir Friday.'

Now the exciting French forward has completed one of the more surprising moves of this summer by agreeing to move to La Liga side Real Betis.

According to reports Fekir has cost the Seville based side €19.75 million upfront plus a further €10 million in bonuses.

The player and former club Lyon have both got a 20% sell on clause included in the deal as well, should the 26-year-old move on.

The Lyon born forward was Jurgen Klopp chief attacking target last summer, as he looked to add creativity and squad depth to his team.

Fekir, who was part of the France squad at that summer's World Cup, was expected to sign and the deal between the two clubs was reportedly done.

With the forward wanting the move it was rumoured that the complications came from his medical with the Reds and the move went from about to being announced to not happening.

Last season Fekir scored nine Ligue 1 goals and set up seven more in a season that was much quieter personally than the year before, although Lyon still finished in the Champions League qualification places.

The French side have already lost Tanguy Ndombele this summer to Spurs and this second deal could also benefit Mauricio Pochettino's side with Betis' Giovani Lo Celso linked with a move to north London.

Betis finished 10th in La Liga last season and the addition of Fekir to their team will come as a surprise to some who may have expected him to move to a bigger club.

Will his move pay off for all concerned?
