Pep Guardiola and Jose Mourinho are set to familiarise themselves with each other once again on Thursday when they go head-to-head in the Premier League and it could happen again in the transfer window.

Guardiola and Mourinho are hardly strangers to each other having had some epic battles when in charge of Barcelona and Real Madrid respectively.

Thursday's match may not have the same title implications that the pair of managers are used to but that won't stop the Manchester derby being as important and hard fought.

City can now concentrate on the league having been knocked out of the FA Cup by Arsenal at the weekend but they need a result to stave off United's advancing charges on the top four.

Even with the race for Champions League positions hotting up some thoughts have turned to the summer and, according to the Daily Mail, City have entered the race for one of United's top targets.

The newspaper says that the Citizens will join the Red Devils and Barcelona in the race to sign PSG right back Serge Aurier.

Guardiola has to deal with bringing down the average age of his squad and plugging gaps where the team clearly isn't strong enough with the full backs being an obvious starting point.

The former Bayern Munich boss clearly isn't too impressed with his options at right back with Fernandinho and Jesus Navas having been used their ahead of Pablo Zabaleta.

Despite Antonio Valencia being one of United's best performers this season Jose Mourinho is thought to be after strengthening the right back position.

Barca are in desperate need for a right back having failed to replace Dani Alves since he left and Sergio Roberto filling in there for much of the season.

Who do you think will sign Aurier?
