Antoine Griezmann is available for a relatively cut-price deal in January, though it seems one club are exempt from that privilege.
The France international was said to be close to joining Manchester United before signing a new contract at his beloved Atletico Madrid until 2022, and had his release clause doubled to £184 million as a result.

Griezmann put pen to paper having seen Atleti fail to win their appeal on a transfer ban imposed on them for the manner in which they approached young players, yet that release clause has now dropped back down to £92 million again - making it somewhat more affordable and appealing for clubs, particular long-time admirers United, when January rolls around.
However, it's emerged that one club are unable to get Griezmann for £92 million mid-season, when Atletico are able to register players again.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona, who just splashed out £97 million on Ousmane Dembele as a replacement for Neymar, who signed for PSG in a record-breaking £198 million move, must pay the full £184 million if they fancy trying to lure Griezmann to the Nou Camp in January.

They will, however, be able to pay the necessary £92 million fee to land the former Real Sociedad man in July, but other clubs certainly have the upper hand on the Blaugrana in the race for Griezmann.

News of Griezmann's release clause being halved, prompted Ladbrokes to slash United's odds of signing the Atleti forward to 3/1, making them joint favourites to sign the former Real Sociedad man, alongside Barcelona.
Griezmann is also a target of Barcelona's, which may prompt United into making a move this January. Image: PA

The current odds on Griezmann's next destination are as follows:
Man United - 3/1
Barcelona - 3/1
Man City - 5/1
PSG - 7/1
Bayern Munich - 8/1
Arsenal - 10/1
