It's been 10 days since Monaco won the Ligue 1 title after a season when they became the hottest club in Europe but they are on the verge of losing their second big name player in less than two weeks.

This season Monaco have become pretty much everyone's second favourite club, unless you happen to be a PSG fan after they broke the Parisiens monopoly on the French league.

Their performances both in Ligue 1, winning the league for the first time since 2000, and the Champions League, where they reached the semi-finals with impressive performances.

It was al done with an exciting, young side playing attacking football that delighted us all and attracted everyone's attention to the players.

So it was no shock to see Europe's big boys in the transfer business linked with a hell of a lot of the Monaco side and it took Manchester City just days to sign Bernardo Silva.

And according to reports the exit door at the Stade Louis II looks set to stay open as, according to French journalist Romain Collet-Gaudin, Benjamin Mendy will be next out, as confirmed by his family:

The left back is thought to be costing City around €50 million and his impressive performances, especially against Pep Guardiola's side, suggest it will be money well spent.

City's ageing full-backs was a big part of their issue during the season and it's no surprise their manager has made new players in those positions a priority.

Goalkeeper Ederson is expected to join the Premier League side for a world record transfer fee for a goalie in the coming days taking Guardiola's spend far above any other team so far this summer.

City could yet go back to the French principality to sign more players as Fabinho is thought to be high on the former Barcelona manager's list, although he faces strong opposition from Manchester United.

Monaco may be a skeleton of their glorious self come August and the new season!
