AC Milan Meet With Cristiano Ronaldo's Agent To Enquire About Potential Transfer

This is not a joke...

Vincenzo Montella's AC Milan are not messing about this summer. In a huge overhaul, Andrea Conti, Musacchio, Rodriguez, Calhanoglu, Kessie, Borini, Bonucci, Silva and Lucas Biglia have all joined the ranks in recent months.

Remarkably, it doesn't look like the Italian giants are finished spending just yet.

11 days after Argentina international Lucas Biglia joined the big spenders on a permanent deal, penning a three-year contract with the Serie A side, Milan have launched their most ambitious transfer enquiry to date.

AC Milan CEO Marco Fassone and sporting director Massimiliano Mirabelli held a meeting with super agent Jorge Mendes in Sardinia, and the pair asked about the availability of Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo.

Ronaldo has been linked with a move away from Los Blancos in recent weeks, and the big spending Italians are quote 'curious' about having Ronaldo among their ranks, according to Sky Italia.

Mendes reportedly told Milan chiefs that the former Manchester United winger would cost £179 million. He also said that his client would demand £550,000-a-week in wages.

Ronaldo was inevitably linked with a move to Old Trafford after reports emerged that he was unhappy at the Bernabeu, but it seems Mourinho was chasing a lost cause.

Ronaldo apparently wanted out this summer, and it all stemmed from the ongoing lawsuit from Spanish prosecutors, who claimed Ronaldo defrauded the authorities of €14.7 million in a three-year period between 2011 and 2014 in relation to his image rights.

As a result of the allegations, which the Portuguese forward strongly denied, it was said that Ronaldo wanted to leave Spain altogether, despite signing a new and improved five-year contract back in November.

But earlier this week, Ronaldo said that he wanted to stay at Los Blancos.

Although United are now seemingly uninterested in a deal, Milan, on the other hand, have money to burn and are looking to continue their incredible rebuild with potentially the biggest transfer of all time.

Ronaldo to Milan?

Who knows what this unpredictable transfer window will bring next.
