Sunderland may have been relegated following a quite frankly abysmal season in the Premier League, but striker Jermain Defoe has arguably had his best season yet at the age of 34.
Defoe has scored 16 goals in all competitions under David Moyes, and his incredible goal scoring record kept the Black Cats afloat, months before the inevitable drop.
Unsurprisingly, the England international has been linked with a number of clubs following his impressive run of form, and one Premier League club in particular have reportedly agreed a deal with Sunderland to sign the former Tottenham forward.

Eddie Howe's Bournemouth are expected to complete the free signing of Jermain Defoe this week, according to The Mirror
The report also states that Defoe will complete a medical within the next 72 hours.
Other reports state that the England striker will earn £130k-a-week at Bournemouth, and is ready to sign a two year deal at Dean Court.
What is for certain, Jermain Defoe will bring a huge amount of experience and goals to the Premier League side.

In the last two seasons, the former West Ham forward has scored 29 goals. That's more than Theo Walcott and Wayne Rooney combined.
In the past three seasons, he has also averaged a goal every 192.4 minutes. Something that Howe's side have needed for some time.

Is this a good signing by Bournemouth? Is Defoe worth £130k-a-week?
