Fekir Friday was all the rage in Liverpool yesterday but that's turned into No Sign Of Nabil as the Lyon forward's move has been held up and according to reports is now under some doubt.

Lyon tried to deny that they had agreed a deal with Liverpool for forward Nabil Fekir, that was despite everyone reporting that the Ligue 1 side had accepted £53 million for the French forward from the Reds.

Then there was news that he was due in Liverpool on Friday to pass his medical, agree terms and sign on the dotted line all on Friday, with an image of him doing an interview for LFC TV, in a Liverpool shirt, being leaked.

And yet we waited and waited and there was still no sign of Fekir, Liverpool or Lyon announcing the deal. Fekir Friday came and went with nothing done.

Now there are reports that the deal is being delayed because Liverpool have concerns over his fitness, specifically when it comes to a previous knee injury, with The Times first reporting the potential issue.

There is no confirmation that the player has failed a medical but then there hasn't even been an announcement that there's been a deal reached between the two sides so that makes sense.

However that is believed to be the reason for the delay and it also casts doubts over the transfer happening at all.

The issue concerns a major knee injury from Fekir's past. The forward missed most of the 2015/16 season after suffering a ruptured cruciate ligament injury in the September.

Last season he once again missed part of the season because of a knee issue and the Reds would want to clear up that it won't be a recurring issue before spending over £50 million on him.

The delay means that even if the deal does go through then it's likely it won't be until after the World Cup.

France play their final pre World Cup friendly tonight against USA and Didier Deschamps wants all transfer business done before the players fly out to Russia for the tournament.

This could be a major blow to Liverpool's plans for next season.

Will the Reds get their deal done?
