Michael Carrick, Ander Herrera and Paul Pogba have become quite the team at the centre of Manchester United's current resurgence. However things aren't so wonderful outside of those three and United may sell an excess midfielder but they've rejected an offer from Everton for one player.

For the first part of the season it felt like Jose Mourinho didn't know who is best team was and trying to play a two man midfield with Paul Pogba just didn't seem to be working, especially as the other man in the middle was Marouane Fellaini.

However the Old Trafford outfit are now on an upward curve. Their controversial win over West Ham last night was their seventh league win in a row and Michael Carrick's run in the first team seems to be getting the best out of Paul Pogba.

That means that Morgan Schneiderlin has seen just 11 minutes of league football all season. The Frenchman is available for transfer in the current January window but United have turned down a £19 million bid from Everton as the fee is too low.

The 27 year old has been told by the manager that he doesn't fit into his plans but United are hoping to recoup the £24 million they paid for the former Southampton midfielder in summer 2015.

Ronaldo Koeman managed Schneiderlin when the pair were with the Saints and he has made the player his number one priority for the January window but doesn't want to pay the entire £24 million.

West Brom have also been linked with the player and they are expected to make an increased bid for him. Tony Pulis enjoys a good relationship with Mourinho but the player may prefer to stay in the North West with his former boss.
