Manchester United Star Set To Leave At The End Of The Season

Manchester United's preparations for next season, no matter who is in charge of the team, have started with one first team player already expected to leave in the summer, with his contract set to run out.

It would never have been fair to say that Jose Mourinho was the only problem at Manchester United, heck he probably wasn't even the biggest issue for the team, but, as is always the case, changing the manager was the easiest problem to rectify.

Under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer the team have looked better and the results have already improved but it still feels like it's unlikely to help the former striker get the job permanently.

No one knows what will happen at United in the near future but things are certain to change, no matter who gets the manager's job next.

As well as a new manager it's pretty likely that the playing staff will change. The new man in charge will have players in mind to sign more more importantly might be the players who leave.

At times players who Sir Alex Ferguson signed have still been prominent members of the first team and one of those is set to be one of the first out the door in the summer.

According to the Mirror Antonio Valencia's representative have already started talks with Inter Milan about a move to the San Siro and United have no plans to offering him a new deal.

Valencia has been at Old Trafford since moving from Wigan in the summer of 2009 and is currently the club captain but has only played eight times in all competitions this season.

The Ecuadorian seemed to fall out of favour under Jose Mourinho after being 'caught' liking a tweet about the former manager being sacked but he hasn't got his place back under Solskjaer.

United could extend the 33 year old's deal by a year, and have till March to exercise that option, but are aware that the player has already begun assessing his options.

Inter would reportedly like to sign the right winger turned defender in the January transfer window but United don't want to weaken their options and have no thoughts of signing a replacement in this window.

It's been nearly a decade of Valencia being a mainstay at Old Trafford but it looks like the end for him.
