Will Jose Mourinho splash the cash in the January transfer window? Well, he's already plotting one of his major signings for next summer.

Manchester United could be in four competitions when the transfer window reopens, which may force the Portuguese to bolster his squad ahead of the second half of the season.

But while the club mull over new additions in January, it appears he's hoping to seal the transfer of a Premier League star, next summer.

And beating Chelsea in the process.

According to reports via Daily Mail, Spurs' Danny Rose has reportedly expressed his desire to join United despite interest from the English champions.

What's more, Rose has his 'heart set on a move to Old Trafford' after a turmoil close season.

Following their second place finish in the 2016/17 campaign, Rose launched a stunning attack on the clubs transfer policy, and jabbed them at their lack of trophies.

He apologised for his words and was subsequently fined, with his Spurs career blown into doubt.

Chelsea and United were firmly on his radar with the latter confident of striking a deal. A reported £45 million is the believed transfer fee which could prize him away from North London.

Last season, Rose and fellow wing-back Kyle Walker lit up the Premier League. Though Walker was sold to league rivals Manchester City for £50 million. And he could follow in his ex-teammates shoes by moving to Manchester.

Mourinho has identified Rose has his first-choice left-back with Ashley Young, Matteo Darmian and Daley Blind alternating on the flank so far this season.

Rose hasn't featured this term following a knee injury, with Ben Davies brilliantly deputising in his absence. The Welsh international has weighed in with goals and assists.
