It's amazing how quickly some people move on after they've had a bit of a break up. Pep Guardiola clearly doesn't take things too badly and the Manchester City manager has already moved on after his failure with Alexis Sanchez earlier.

Manchester City have been expected to move for Alexis Sanchez this January but the news now is that the Premier League leaders don't want to spend more than £20 million on him whilst Arsenal want £35 million.

According to reports that decision could see the Chilean forward end up at Manchester United instead. Jose Mourinho is reportedly willing to offer whatever he needs to get Sanchez and the former Barca man wants to leave ASAP, although we'll see if that happens.

But Guardiola isn't sat at home sobbing into a tub of ice cream and bitching with Mikel Arteta and Vincent Kompany. Oh no he's put his gladrags on and got straight back on the horse for a new transfer target.

According to the Manchester Evening News the Premier League champions elect have contacted Ukrainian side Shakhtar Donetsk to offer £45 million for Brazilian midfielder Fred.

That is apparently still below the Ukrainians' valuation of the 24 year-old holding midfielder but the soon to be three time Premier League champions are testing the waters to see if they can sign Fred.

It's not that long ago that he actually signed a new deal but it's unlikely to stop City going after him, especially as Pep Guardiola has a new 'number six' high up on his list of priorities:

Fernandinho turns 33 at the end of the season and although he has been one of the best players for City this season Guardiola is looking to the future, especially with Yaya Toure likely to depart in the summer.

Sorry Alexis, you've been replaced by Fred.
