Lazio defender Stefan de Vrij is poised to sign a new deal at Lazio but that doesn't necessarily mean he will be sticking around in the Italian capital.
The Dutchman is to be tied down on a new contract, with his current deal due to expire in the summer.

Lazio value him very highly and don't want to lose him on a free transfer, hence the desperation to get him to sign a new contract.

But in doing so, they won't exactly be deterring the whole host of top-level clubs who have been linked with. Manchester United, Barcelona, Liverpool, Inter Milan and Juventus have all shown strong interest.
According to Italian outlet Gazzetta Dello Sport, despite being on the verge of signing a contract extension, the 25-year old is still likely to leave in the summer and will be available for a dirt-cheap €25 million (£22 million) because of the release clause Lazio are inserting.
De Vrij, one of the most in-demand central defenders, will surely still appeal to several big clubs. £22 million is an absolute steal for a very good player.

Lazio sporting director Igli Tare recently spoke about the interest in the former Feyenoord man but is hopeful he will stay put.
"We are on the right track and have to decide together," Tare told TGCom.
"I hope his journey will continue with us. It is something he wants too, because he is very fond of this place and the club. He has many offers from top level clubs, obviously, but his heart beats for Lazio and I hope in the end he'll stay.

"It could be sorted out by tomorrow, as it's not an issue of when, but what the deal will be."
De Vrij has featured 22 times in all competitions for Lazio this term, scoring three goals.
