There are fewer moves from one club to another that seems as weird as Lassana Diarra's move from Portsmouth to Real Madrid but that feels like Diarra's career in a nutshell. The Frenchman has now found a new club.

At the age of 20 Lassana Diarra made himself known to us with his stint at Chelsea where he was a young promising Frenchman, so almost by proxy he had to rock up to Arsenal in a time when the two clubs were hardly best friends due to the Wenger and Mourinho relationship.

Mathieu Flamini's emergence at the Emirates saw his time there come to an extremely premature end after just six months in north London when he moved to Portsmouth for £5.5 million.

His move from Pompey to Real Madrid is one of those deals you forget about being pretty bloody weird. His time there was followed by a stint in Russia which ended badly before a move to France with Marseille that ended in February after trouble with the club.

Now the 32 year old has moved to the middle east after five months out of the game. According to Get French Football he has signed a three year deal with Abu Dhabi team Al Jazira.

Al Jazira are the UAE champions after finishing last season 11 points above second placed Al-Wasl.

It's not that long ago that Diarra, who won the FA Cup with Pompey and the La Liga title with Real, was playing in the French national side, only just missing out on the Euro 2016 squad, now he's playing in the middle east.

Nothing will beat his move to Los Blancos though.
