Everton To Rival AC Milan For Their Next Summer Signing

Everton To Rival AC Milan For Their Next Summer Signing

Ronald Koeman still wants another striker and he's going toe-to-toe with Italian giants Milan for his next transfer target.

If it weren't for AC Milan and Everton there would have only been Neymar, Philippe Coutinho and Kylian Mbappe stories this summer. So it should come as no surprise that eventually the pair would meet somewhere.

Whilst the 'big' teams have settled on one or two huge name signings that seems to be long drawn out sagas, like Kyle Walker, Romelu Lukaku, Alvaro Morata and Alexandre Lacazette, Everton and AC Milan have been busy bees on the quiet.

For Everton the likes of Jordan Pickford, Michael Keane and Sandro Ramirez have been good signings whilst Milan have used the investment from China to sign Leonardo Bonucci, Andre Silva and Hakan Calhanoglu.

With the season fast approaching though that clearly isn't enough for either team and both have been linked with more moves. Clearly Ronald Koeman and Vincenzo Montella both feel that their sides could do with more options upfront.

For several weeks the Rossoneri have been linked with a move for Fiorentina striker Nikola Kalinic. However Italian transfer guru Gianluca di Marzio is now reporting that Everton are lining up a 25 million euro bid for him.

Kalinic apparently prefers to stay in Italy so Milan is obviously his first choice but Montella and his team have been looking at other options which is why they are yet to make an official approach for the Croatian.

Should the San Siro club decide against not making the move then Everton would be ready to pounce and give the 29 year old a return to the Premier League, the league he left in 2011.

His last stint in England was two years from 2009 with Blackburn Rovers that didn't go well at all. The striker bagged just seven goals in 44 league games during his time at Ewood Park.

Since then he played for Dnipro where scored 37 goals in 86 games before his move to Italy where he has scored 27 goals in 68 appearances in Serie A, a much better record than his time in England.

The Toffees are far from done in the transfer window as they are still hoping to bring Gylfi Sigurdsson in from Swansea.
