Everton are looking to continue their January spending spree and are reportedly considering a move for Bayern Munich left-back Juan Bernat.

The Toffees have already splashed out £27 million to land Besiktas striker Cenk Tosun, as well as completing a £30 million deal for Theo Walcott.

The greatest Spanish XI in Premier League history:

But Sam Allardyce wants further reinforcements, and as per the Liverpool Echo, has identified Bernat as a target.

Everton have had problems at left-back this season, with Leighton Baines getting on and struggling with injuries.

Watch: A compilation of people being really bad at football:

With Brendan Galloway on loan at Sunderland, and Luke Garbutt not registered in the Premier League, summer signing Cuco Martina has deputised but has looked very uncomfortable thus far, meaning the Goodison Park club have made left-back a priority area to strengthen.

And 24-year old Bernat has emerged as suitable candidate. The former Valencia man has struggled for regular game-time this season, playing second-fiddle to the ever-present David Alaba and making just two Bundesliga appearances.

If he wants to make Spain's World Cup squad, it would be in his best interests to leave Bayern, who he joined for a fee of £8 million in 2014.

Bernat, who can also play further up the pitch as a left-winger, has also attracted interest from Galatasaray.

Everton have turned their season around under Allardyce's guidance and currently lie in ninth place. Their form of late has been nothing short of dreadful, having lost their last four games in all competitions and only managing to score twice in six matches.
