What price would you pay for the chance to play in the Champions League? The UEFA competition is the Holy Grail of club tournaments in Europe and clubs are willing to spend big on it, but would £68 million be too much for Marco Verratti?

For some clubs the Champions League seems to be their right rather than their privilege. Can you really imagine a season going by without Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Juventus or even Arsenal? No matter how many times the Gunners try to not qualify it just never happens.

Other clubs though once belonged to that list but are now struggling. Manchester United for one used to qualify without problem and now there's no guarantee. For AC Milan and Inter Milan though life is even harder.

So it's no surprise that they're willing to do anything to try and get back to the highs of winning the competition. To attempt to get back to where they were Inter are reportedly willing to offer £68 million to PSG for Marco Verratti.

The 24 year old midfielder is one of Europe's most talented young midfielders and has become even more important to PSG since the losses of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and David Luiz last summer.

However the Italian has only scored twice in the league this season and set up one goal as the French capital side have failed to live up to their previous five seasons as league champions.

According to the reports Inter have a rival in Antonio Conte and Chelsea as the Blues manager wants to bring his fellow countryman to the Premier League whilst his former club Juventus have also been linked to Verratti.

The players agent recent hinted at a move away from the club despite his new contract deal saying, "The contracts are made and unmade in three minutes.

"We'll see PSG's aims, Marco is happy to be there, but he wants to win something important. He can not stay in a team that does not win."

For what it's worth the Champions League winner can make around £40 million in prize money, that's just how much of a difference Verratti could make!
