Liverpool might not be able to defend but that doesn't mean Jurgen Klopp is going to try Mamadou Sakho in his back four any time soon. The fan favourite has been ousted from the first team and looks certain to leave Anfield in January.

The 26 year old centre back was one of Klopp's first choice centre backs last season and played 21 times in the league for Liverpool. However things turned sour in the summer after he was sent home from the club's tour to the United States because of disciplinary issues.

Since then the Frenchman has been training with the club's under 23s and hasn't made a single appearance all season. He was made available for loan in the summer but refused a move to Stoke City.

With January approaching it's inevitable that Sakho will be moving of from Anfield and according to the Sun both A.C Milan and Inter Milan are chasing moves for the player.

The former PSG player was hit with a ban at the end of last season after failing a drugs test however he was cleared by the summer and was available for France's Euro squad but didn't make it.

A.C Milan were interested in him when he was playing in France and, along with San Siro co inhabitants Inter, face competition from West Brom and Stoke in January for his signature.

Still surely he can't do any worse than Liverpool's defenders did last weekend?
