Bayern Munich are keeping a close eye on Eric Dier's situation at Tottenham Hotspurs. The German superclub are considering a move for the Spurs player as he becomes increasingly frustrated with game time.

If you had to name all of the positive things from England's time in France last summer you'd struggle to get past the brioche they brought home for loved ones and Dier's performances in central midfield.

The 22 year old made a brilliant transition from defence to holding midfield with Spurs last season and earned his place as virtually undroppable for the Three Lions in that time.

However things haven't gone the same way for the former Sporting Lisbon youth player and he has found his place in midfield taken by Mousa Dembele and Victor Wanyama.

According to The Times, Bayern Munich are looking at the possibility of signing Dier should he choose to leave White Hart Lane over limited playing time with a summer move a likelihood.

Dier only signed a new deal with Spurs in September but has so far been mainly been used as a stand in for Toby Alderweireld in defence when the Belgian was injured.

He didn't start the game against Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday with the Dembele and Wanyama partnership seeming to be Pochettino's first choice midfield and even teenager Harry Winks enjoying more time in the centre of the park for the north London club.

Whilst the former Everton loanee is yet to speak out about his disappointment in not playing in his preferred position much this season it could all change if his England place was put in doubt.

Gareth Southgate would reportedly like to build the base of his midfield around Dier and Jordan Henderson however the likes of Danny Drinkwater and a rejuvenated Jack Wilshere could push Dier out if he fails to get the game time.

Bayern supposedly had a move turned down for him last summer but could return with another offer in 2017. Spurs could make a healthy profit of the player they signed for just £4 million in 2014.

A move to Europe would hold no fears for Dier who grew up in Portugal after moving there from Cheltenham aged seven with his family and having played for Sporting's academy.
