Juventus were serious in their pursuit of Andres Iniesta but the Barca skipper turned the Turin outfit down and instead signed a 'lifetime contract' at the club.

In September, news emerged, via Tuttosport, that the Bianconeri were eyeing up a trio of massive deals for Iniesta, Emre Can and Leon Goretzka.

However unlike the other two, who remain out of contract, the Spaniard signed on the dotted line last month and will remain at the Blaugrana for life.

As per the reliable Fabrizio Romano, writing for Calcio Mercato,Juventus approached the 33-year old and his entourage about a free transfer to the Allianz Stadium in 2018.

And though, at one stage, there were rumours that he and Barcelona were struggling to agree on terms for a new deal, he is said to have rejected Juve's offer.

Moreover, in the same report, it's noted that contrary to reports, Juventus did not receive a €50 million offer from Manchester City for midfielder Miralem Pjanic, despite City holding an interest in the 27-year old.

The Bosnian, who arrived from title-rivals Roma in 2016, would appear to be a perfectly suitable player for Pep Guardiola's Manchester City, but it's believed that Juventus are to talk with Pjanic and his camp about a potential new deal in the next few months, with his stock on the rise.

In other Juventus news, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge spoke at Bayern's annual review for the Bundesliga champions, and among other topics, revealed that Douglas Costa's contract until 2020 will not fulfilled, as he is to complete a €46 million permanent transfer to Juventus. He's made 16 appearances since being loaned out in July.
