David Luiz Hopes To Become European Champions With His Dream Club

Since making a sensational return back to Chelsea, David Luiz has quickly become an integral part of Antonio Conte's defensive back line.

But despite the Brazilian churning out impressive performances on a consistent basis, he's made a surprising revelation about his future.

The 29-year-old has gone on record saying he wants to return to Portugal with Benfica before he eventually calls time on his playing career.

Luiz joined Benfica after coming to prominent in his native Brazil for Vitoria. A four year spell with the Portuguese side still clearly remains etched into his heart.

He's confessed that a move to Benfica would be a dream while he harbours ambitions of becoming European champions.

"My dream is to return to Benfica and become European champions with them."

The defender is in his first year of his three year contract, but has outlined his desire to head back there, unsure whether it'll be as a player or coach.

"I don't know whether it will be as a coach or a player, but I want to go back there."

In his second season with the Premier League outfit, Luiz helped his side hold aloft the Europa League but beating his beloved Benfica in the process.

Needless to say, it was an emotional affair not to mention one of his most difficult days in his professional career.

"One of the most difficult days of my career was the Europa League final win over Benfica. It hurt a lot seeing my friends upset."
