Club Preparing £222 Million Bid For Barcelona's Neyma

Club Preparing £222 Million Bid For Barcelona's Neyma

This would destroy the transfer record by a long, long distance. Is Neymar worth it? Is anyone?

It's an unwritten law that you can't actually have a summer transfer window without news of someone ready to meet Neymar's transfer release clause and now we've officially kept to that rule!

We all love a big name transfer, whether it's something that comes from almost nowhere, like James Rodriguez to Bayern Munich or the end of a long saga like Paul Pogba's move last summer.

When there's no actual drama of football, outside of all of the international tournaments we only pretend to care about with no Premier League, we live for the drama of the transfer window,

There's few better storylines in tv right now than Chelsea's determination to get a striker in to replace Diego Costa whilst the Spaniard is hanging round like a bad smell.

But as with regular tv we start to get a bit bored when the same old storylines comes up so transfer guru Gianluca di Marzio reporting that club wants to meet Neymar's transfer release clause isn't that interesting.

According to the Italian it's PSG this time who are willing to meet the Barcelona superstar's insane release clause, that only went up this summer, of £222 million!

The report reckons that PSG are deadly serious about adding the Brazilian to their team as they try to give Unai Emery the chance to reclaim the French title from Monaco.

Of course it then claims that the player will have the choice between picking the pay rise that a move to Paris would guarantee him or take one on offer from Barcelona.

Imagine our surprise when wages are brought into it.

Previously Manchester United were the club hell bent on bringing the 25 year old from the Camp Nou and that ended up with him getting a new contract too.

I'm willing to bed my savings on this transfer not happening, at odds of 1/4 for him to stay I'd win about £10...
