The Tinkerman could return sooner rather than later.

Claudio Ranieri might have left the Premier League too soon after winning the league but he could be returning very soon, at the end of the season in fact.

Ranieri's Leicester completed the most incredible title win maybe of all time but certainly in the Premier League era of the super rich vs everyone else.

But just a few months later the Italian, loved pretty much universally, found himself out of a job after the worst title defence in the Premier League's history.

Most people felt it was harsh on the former Chelsea boss despite the team's freefall and many of the players, including the likes of title heroes Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez, got the blame.

But, according to the Express, the Tinkerman might be back in a job sooner rather than later. The paper reports that he is being lined up for the Watford job with the axe hanging over Walter Mazzarri's head.

Watford currently sit in 10th place and could finish in the top half of the season which would be an improvement on their first campaign back in the Premier League last season.

That would therefore seem really harsh to sack Mazzarri but it wouldn't be the first time that the owner, Gino Pozzo, has taken such steps.

Slaviša Jokanović got the Hornets promoted to the Premier League but was sacked before the season started and Quique Flores was sacked after a 13th place finish and FA Cup semi-final.

Now in charge of Fulham, Jokanović was unlucky to be sacked by Watford.

Pozzo is reportedly annoyed at Mazzarri's lack of English and few signs of improvement since taking the job last year, although that doesn't seem to have hindered him much.

Fans of Ranieri might be quite excited though if the end of Mazzarri means the return of the Tinkerman, although considering his changes of manager maybe Pozzo is the new Tinkerman.

Leicester on the other hand have really turned things around since Ranieri was sacked but he could come back to haunt the Foxes next season.
