Chelsea will be returning to the Champions League next season as English champions, and they're hoping to bolster their squad ahead of the extra pile of fixtures by recruiting one of the most sought after midfielders.

And in order to do so, Antonio Conte is prepared to offload Michy Batshuayi as part of the deal. Bad news for the Belgium after his starring role against West Brom last Friday night.

Batshuayi was the unlikely match-winner as he secured Chelsea's league title by netting a late winner at the Hawthorns. He then followed that goal with another against Watford.

Though it appears his miserable spell at Stamford Bridge could be cut short after reports link him with a move away. The 23-year-old is reportedly a transfer target for West Ham among others, but fresh reports suggest a move to France could be on the cards.

The striker could be use as a makeweight in the deal to sign AS Monaco's Tiemoue Bakayoko as well as £43 million, according to the Telegraph.

The French midfielder has rose to prominence, along with his Monaco teammates, as they enjoyed a brilliant Champions League journey which included a semi-final visit.

As well as their European excursions, Leonardo Jardim's charges also clinched the Ligue 1 title pipping the money-rich Paris-Saint Germain, capping off their remarkable campaign.

Bakayoko has attracted plenty of interest following his performances in the middle of the park, gaining a reputation as a midfield powerhouse.

Manchester United are believed to be keeping tabs on the budding talent, yet it's expected Chelsea are looking likely to land his services once the transfer window reopens.

Ahead of the new season, Conte is set to be given a massive transfer kitty by Roman Abramovich with Bakayoko in line to be the first summer addition.

Could the 22-year-old move to The Bridge with one of his teammates?

Conte is also eyeing up wing-back Thomas Lemar who has also impressed this season.
