Antonio Conte has been plotting several different offers for defenders/wing-backs with the Italian boss finally close to agreeing a deal.

From Juventus' Sandro, Southampton's Cedric Soares and Bayern Munich's Rafinha. Not to mention Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain who ultimately completed a transfer to fellow Premier League side Liverpool.

Despite splashing £34 million on Antonio Rudiger, Conte remains keen on more defensive reinforcements ahead of defending the league title, as well as mounting a challenge in the Champions League.

And it appears he's set to secure the services of another defender. According to reports from La Gazzetta dello Sport, Chelsea are in advanced talks to sign Torino's Davide Zappacosta.

Chelsea are reportedly close to agreeing a £23 million fee plus bonuses for the full-back. After making his debut for Torino in 2015, he's spent two seasons with the Serie A outfit, racking up 51 top flight appearances.

The 25-year-old is now set to ply his trade away from Italy for the first time as he links up with the Italian at Stamford Bridge.

Zappacosta isn't the only player to attract interest from Chelsea and among Europe. Torino goal machine Andrea Belotti shot to fame last season following a prolific campaign.

Belotti bagged 26 goals which saw him heavily linked with a move away from the Turn based club. As well as Chelsea, AC Milan, Manchester United and AS Monaco, to name but a few, have been keeping an eye on him.

Though he remains a Torino player with deadline day looming.

Meanwhile, Zappacosta will provide back up and give Conte defensive options.
