January transfer deals are coming in thick and fast with moves already being completed, and West Ham have made no secrets about their intention in the market as they've lodged a £6 million bid for Jermain Defoe.

Slaven Bilic is hellbent on snapping up new talents ahead of the second half of the season. Bilic is hoping to land a striker in January.

The Hammers were reportedly eyeing up ambitious loan bids for Manchester United pair Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford.

As well as Chelsea's Michy Batshuayi. And they've now turned their attention to a former West Ham favourite in Defoe.

But a £6 million offer has been rejected by fellow Premier League side Sunderland, as they hope to remain onto his services as they battle relegation.

The 34-year-old started his professional career with the East-London outfit before moving on following relegation to the Championship.

The much-traveled frontman is on red-hot form for the Black Cats bagging an impressive 11 league goals in 20 appearances including a brace against Liverpool on Monday.

It's fair to say that Sunderland are heavily reliant on Defoe's goals so a move away from The Stadium of Light will prove disastrous. Watch this space.
