Bayern Munich could land one of the biggest transfers of the summer with a report saying that they are in talks with Manchester City to sign winger Leroy Sane, and have been given permission to talk to the player.
It's going to be a big summer for transfers, it always is these days, with quite a few teams with a lot of improvements to be made if they want to get where they are aiming for,
High amongst those is Bayern Munich. The Bundesliga champions are just a point against Eintracht Frankfurt away from winning the German title for the seventh time in a row but they are still in need of a rebuild.
Niko Kovac's side will be slightly fortuitous to win the league, and thankful of a Borussia Dortmund meltdown, and they were knocked out of the last 16 of the Champions League by Liverpool.
The Germans are also losing their duo of legendary wingers with Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben both leaving the Allianz Arena.
It won't be easy to replace the pair but Bayern have reportedly set their sights on one big target with the Daily Record reporting that they've spoken to Manchester City about Leroy Sane, with the Premier League side granting them permission to talk to the player.

That's not to say that a transfer is imminent with the two clubs yet to hold talks about a price, never mind agreeing terms for a move.
City aren't in a rush to sell Sane but as yet the Germany international has not signed a new contract, with the player rejecting an offer to extend his deal past 2021.
The English champions don't want to see the player's value go down or risk losing him on a free in two years so would consider selling him for the right price if the 23 year old doesn't sign a new deal.

The news could actually come as an unlikely, and rare, lift for City's local rivals Manchester United.
Lille's Nicolas Pepe is another Bayern target but they would pause their interest in the forward for Sane which could allow Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's team to swoop in ahead of Kovac's team.
Sane started 21 games in the league for Pep Guardiola's title winning side this season but had to settle for a place on the bench for many of the end of season important games.
