Barcelona And PSG Officials Meet To Discuss Possible Swap Deal

The two Champions League sides were in Madrid for a European Club Association meeting but also met privately for a transfer discussion.

The transfer window in England closed over a week ago and Italy had enough of letting the draught in and shut their window yesterday but Barcelona and PSG could still make a big transfer swap.

It's kind of weird living in a post transfer window world where the transfer window is still open because in Spain, France and Germany, to name just a few places, it's still possible to sign player.

Here in England the transfer window shut last week before the opening round of Premier League fixtures so it's easy to forget, in this country at least, that the window is still open elsewhere which means clubs still could target your clubs' players.

Of course it's all pretty quiet on the transfer front in this country, which is actually quite nice, but elite in Europe clubs could still make a big splash which would also be pretty great.

Barcelona and PSG are constantly being linked to players and the two sides could be about to make one of the biggest deals of the summer, if reports in Spain are to be believed.

Representatives of the two sides have been in Madrid for a European Club Association meeting and AS captured images of the two sides meeting at the Gran Meliá Felix Hotel hotel, reportedly to discuss a swap involving Ousmane Dembele and Adrien Rabiot.

PSG and Barcelona presidents Nasser Al Khelaifi and Josep María Bartomeu were both pictured leaving the hotel, whilst Juventus president Andrea Agnelli was spotted leaving at the same time as Al Khelaifi.

Both Barca and Juve have been linked with the French midfielder this summer but the Ligue 1 champions initially had no interest in selling him but things may have changed.

The 23 year old recently decided to stay point in the French capital but also decided against signing a new contract. With his current deal ending next summer he's be available on a free.

Rabiot has refused to sign a new deal despite the club telling him he'd be stuck on the bench for the year if he decides to stay until next summer.

Dembele has been linked with both Arsenal and PSG in the transfer window but scored the winner in the Spanish Super Copa, leaving most to believe he would be staying.

Will Rabiot and Dembele swap places by the end of the month?
