Arsene Wenger has already dvelved into the January transfer market by drafting in non-league defender Cohen Bramall, and it appears the club have now accepted an offer for a Arsenal cult-hero.

Forgotten man Wojciech Szczesny is set to put pen-to-paper on a permanent deal to sign for AS Roma. The two clubs have reportedly agreed a £15 million deal.

The Polish keeper is currently on loan at the Serie A side having moved to Italy in July 2015 following Wenger snapping up Chelsea's Petr Cech.

Szczesny has been an ever present since his move compiling 62 appearances including every league game (19) this campaign, while producing heroics between the sticks, before the odd blunder.

And according to Corriere dello Sport, the 26-year-old has impressed enough for Roma to acquire his services on a full-time deal splashing out £15 mill.

It had been suggested that Szczesny was on the verge of returning to the Emirates after the two clubs failed to agree a deal.Though the Arsenal hero will now officially say goodbye to the side he joined back in 2006.

He spent three years in the Youth academy before forcing himself into the senior fold, making 181 appearances while becoming their No.1 until the signing of the experienced Czech.

As Szczesny says goodbye to North London, he'll remain a cult-hero for continuing to troll cross-town neighbours and fierce rivals Spurs. Never forget, unlucky Spurs...
