Alan Pardew Linked With Very Surprise Return To Management

Alan Pardew Linked With Very Surprise Return To Management

This could be a very bizarre managerial change.

Alan Pardew had to be replaced in order for Crystal Palace to be saved from relegation but the 55-year-old could be back managing in the Premier League sooner than expected.

Pardiola started the season at Palace but had a poor start of the season and they looked doomed for the drop when he departed to be replaced by Sam Allardyce at the turn of the year.

The former Newcastle United manager has been out of management since but he has popped up on Sky Sports as a pundit recently.

As always seems to be the case it is almost inevitable that Pardew will be back on the managerial round about soon enough but now he's being linked with a very surprise return very soon.

According to the Daily Mail, despite being in the middle of the Championship play-offs, Sheffield Wednesday are considering appointing the Englishman whether they get promoted or not!

The newspaper's sources reckon that the Owls aren't happy with Carlos Carvalhal's sixth place finish and even if he turns it into promotion that won't be enough.

The 51-year-old signed a new deal last season but it's believed that Thai owner Dejphon Chansiri wanted promotion within two years after his 2015 takeover of the club.

Whilst the current manager might deliver that, should they beat Huddersfield tomorrow and either Fulham or Reading in the play-off final, it won't save his job.

The club's outlay is thought to have added to the decision as it doesn't reflect their league position.

Perhaps unsurprisingly fans aren't too keen on the news:

Pards has quite the reputation for starting well at a club before it inevitably starts to go wrong and he seems incapable of stopping bad form.

He is also part of a wider problem of managers who keep failing then getting another shot at managing in the Premier League for seemingly little reason.
