Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane ‘close’ to joining Bayern Munich

Harry Kane has been heavily linked with a move away from Tottenham Hotspur

Harry Kane is reportedly close to leaving Tottenham Hotspur for Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich.

Since the end of the 22/23 season, Kane’s future has been one of the major talking points.

As the summer transfer window hots up, the rumours surrounding Kane’s Spurs future have also ramped up.

Over the last few weeks, it has been reported that German champions Bayern have seen two bids rejected by Spurs.

According to the Daily Mail, Kane is close to moving to the Bavarian club should the executive meeting between Bayern CEO Jan Christian Dreesen, technical director Marco Neppe and Spurs chaiman Daniel Levy go well on Monday.

It has been claimed that Bayern are confident of reaching an agreement with the North London club even though there is a gap of £15 million in terms of valuation.

Bayern are believed to be ready to bid £75 million whilst Levy values his most prized asset at £90 million.

The German side are helped by the fact that Kane himself has expressed an interest in moving to Bavaria.

It has been reported that Bayern boss Thomas Tuchel is prioritising a striker as Sadio Mane edges closer to a move to Saudi Professional League side Al Nassr.

Bayern president, Herbert Hainer has previously spoken about the club’s pursuit of the England captain.

As per The Times, Hainer told German football magazine Kicker: “Here in the Bundesliga we don't have many international stars any more.

“Bayern always try to bring in stars. Harry Kane is a highly attractive player, the England captain and a top scorer. He would do us and the Bundesliga good.”

Kane travelled with the Spurs squad for their pre-season in Asia and recently scored in a 5-1 victory against Lion City Sailors.

Spurs will begin their 23/24 Premier League campaign with an away match against Brentford on 13 August.
