Manchester City have spent by far and away the most money in the last 10 years on transfers and that's still the same when you include net spend.
As one Arsenal fan once famously said, 'It's not about spend. It's about net spend,' and that's because you can't fully appreciate the kind of money being spent by a club based just on their outgoings.
When it comes to spending in the last 10 years no one is doing it as much as Manchester City. According to Transfermarkt the Premier League champions have spent £1.44 billion in the last decade and on net spend they also top the bill on minus £1.16 billion.
PSG sit in second place when it comes to net spend and what's impressive about the Ligue 1 champions is how few players they've both bought and sold to be in that position.

Compared to City they've bought 121 players less and sold 126 players less for for about £380 million less in net spend.
AC Milan's place in the top 10 is mostly a reflection of their still winning trophies early in the last 10 years but might also point to why they currently have to give up their place in the Europa League because of FFP sanctions.
Everyone in the top 10 have won trophies in the past decade, which proves that money does pay, at least for them.
Further down the list the picture isn't quite as pretty. The likes of Everton, West Ham and Stoke really haven't got as much out of their money as they might have liked.

Everton especially seem to have come up short with their money, considering they were already a well established Premier League side and haven't gone down in that time.
Stoke's money definitely hasn't been well spent with the Potters heading down to the Championship and unable to get close to coming back up last season.
Pep Guardiola's side meanwhile have continued to spend this summer with midfielder Rodri joining on a club record fee from Atletico Madrid.

The Premier League champions will be looking to kick on in Europe next season as winning the Champions League will be their top priority.
