The 10 goal shortlist was eventually whittled down to three, and today the winner was announced. The FIFA Puskas Award deservedly went to Mohd Faiz Subri' for his sensational knuckle-ball free kick

A bunch of silverware is being handed out at FIFA's inaugural awards evening at the swanky gala in Zurich, Switzerland.

As expected, Real Madrid and Portugal superstar picked up 'The Best' award after being nominated by his fellow peers, journalist and fans.

Not to mention the ridiculous, yet controversial, FIFPro World XI. The usual suspects made the line-up though there was no room for Antoine Griezmann, Jamie Vardy, Riyad Mahrez, to name but a few.

But one of Leicester City's Premier League winning team was recognised for a prize, as boss Claudio Ranieri won the FIFA coach of the year.

Then the FIFA Puskas 2016 award. There were some fine competition though the coveted gong ultimately went to Pulau Pinang's Subri.

Malaysia's maiden nominee takes home the award through his insane knuckle-ball free kick on February 16th 2016.
