Just sublime.

Karim Benzema produced a wonderful mazy run that led to the all-important away goal for Real Madrid at the Vicente Calderon.

Diego Simeone's Atleti were far superior in the first half, displaying bags of aggression, directness, relentless pressing and energy - all typical traits that you expect Atletico to bring to the table when playing on home soil.

And they scored two goals early on to give their roaring home fans the belief that they could do the unthinkable. Saul Niguez notched the opener with a header from a Koke corner in the 12th minute, before Antoine Griezmann did the business from the spot after Fernando Torres was fouled by Raphael Varane.

But in the 42nd minute, Karim Benzema stepped up to the mark for Los Blancos. Seemingly cramped in a blind alley down the left flank, the Real No.9 completely and utterly rinsed a trio of players and squared for Toni Kroos, who drew an excellent save out of Jan Oblak. However, Isco was the player who reacted quickest on the follow-up and stabbed home from close range.

It's fair to say that social media was in awe of the delightful passage of play served up by Benzema.

Talk about quick feet. Incredible piece of play from the former Lyon striker.

Despite a flurry of chances, no goals followed in the game, as Real reach the final yet again and have the opportunity to become the first side in history retain the Champions League trophy.
